【トヨタ博物館】キャデラック シリーズ 452A / Cadillac Series 452A (1931)

展示車両のほぼすべてを走行可能な「動態保存」としていることは、トヨタ博物館の最大の特徴のひとつです。
館内で上映している走行映像の内、販売用DVDに収録されていないものをYouTubeにて公開いたします。

キャデラック シリーズ 452A（1931年）について：
1930年、キャデラックはV型16気筒エンジンを載せた車を世界に先がけてデビューさせました。
452型と呼ばれるこのエンジンは7.4リットルの排気量を持ち、静かな油圧タペット付きOHV機構を採用して、その出力も165馬力と、豪華で重いボディをのせながら強力なパワーを発揮しました。
年間500台程度の限定生産でしたが、キャデラックはこのV16によって速さと力と美しさを備えたアメリカNo.1の高級車の名声を不動のものとすることに成功したのです。

Cadillac Series 452A (1931):
The V-16 engine is what sets the 1930 Cadillac apart from all its contemporaries.
The 7.4-liter Series 452 was the first in the world to sport such a powerful engine -- in this case featuring an overhead-valve mechanism with quiet hydraulic tappets. The luxury bodywork made the car quite heavy, yet the 185 horsepower engine more than offset this.
Only about 500 V16 Cadillacs were produced annually, but the speed, power, and beauty of this automobile firmly established Cadillac as the best luxury car maker in the United States.
