Many people don't realise that you can subscribe on a month-by-month basis, only paying when you need to. The extra features that the Arlo Secure plan provides (such as advanced A.I. detection and cloud storage) aren't necessary for the camera to work.

If you just want local storage, it might be worthwhile getting an Arlo SmartHub which can record onto an external microSD or USB.
