Hello guys , this video is about understanding history command in linux with additional features like history expansion using exclamation mark ('!') and interactive search using ctrl + r . I had begin with basics of history command with examples , ahead of which I explained working of history expansion using '!' in linux with examples. After that , I talked about interactive history search with ctrl +r in linux with examples . At end , I elaborated various variables that are used by history command that includes HISTFILE , HISTFILESIZE , HISTIGNORE , HISTTIMEFORMAT and HISTCONTROL . Some options with history command like writing cache history to file , deleting given history and clearing entire history cache is also discussed .
