This was during an event in Barnagar in Barpeta Assam and birth place of Indian folk singer Kalpana Patowary, where she was Bestowed with "Barnagar Ratna" Ghanshyam Talukdar Award for contribution to Indian Folk Music by the hands of Sree Ranjeet Kr Dass, BJP Assam President and former Speaker & MLA Sarbhog.

Kalpana Patowary: Not only my musical journey but everything that defines Kalpana Patowary,starts here ...Sarbhog, Baranagar, my Birth place. 8th May 2019 was and will be a victorious evening for me as I was given the opportunity to touch the feet of my first Guru, my folk singer father Bipin Nath, on the same stage where I followed his footsteps accompanying him 35 years ago as his little daughter or more as his disciple child artiste. Bestowed with the "Barnagar Ratna" Ghanshyam Talukdar Award for my contribution to Indian Folk Music by the hands of Sree Ranjit Kumar Das, Member of Legislative Assembly from Sarbhog, former Speaker of the Legislative and BJP Assam President. I thank Brihattor Barnagar Rangali Bihu Sanmilon 2019 Barnagar Sarbhog Assam for recognising my efforts. Ghanshyam Talukdar was a pioneer educationist and socio-political figure who started Barnagar College as a night college, with the goal of providing educational opportunities to the poor students of the region. Also took blessings from Sri Sri Basistha Deva Sarma, Burha Satradhikar of respected Barpeta Satra.
