An emotional Trinity Rodman returned to the pitch for the first time in nearly four months and fittingly scored the winning goal in the Spirit’s 2-1 win over the Thorns.

“That was just the hardest thing I've had to go through,” the star forward said after the game of her reoccurring back injury, which she may never fully recover from.

Rodman, who last played April 12, entered the match in the 76th minute to a standing ovation from the home crowd in Washington D.C.

She then scored off a loose-ball volley in the second minute of second half stoppage time.

”I'm just really happy to be back,” she said. “I missed the team. I missed doing what I love.”

The 2024 Olympic gold medalist has only played one game with the U.S. women's national team since Paris, scoring in a 2-0 win on April 5.

Trinity later posted a video of her loudly cheering on boyfriend Ben Shelton, who nabbed the 100th win of his tennis career at the Masters 1000 in Toronto.

Shelton also posted Rodman’s goal, calling her “The Truth.”
