Subir montañas siempre es una aventura… pero pasar la noche a casi 2.500 metros, con –15 °C y el viento golpeando la tienda, ya es otro nivel. 🏔️❄️ En esta ocasión nos lanzamos a conquistar el Pico Peña Prieta, en la montaña palentina, saliendo desde Cardaño de Arriba, junto a mis amigos Manuel y Pedro. Dos días de montaña pura, de los que dejan huella para siempre.

La subida nos regaló paisajes espectaculares de la Cordillera Cantábrica: nieve, silencio y esa sensación de libertad que solo se encuentra lejos de todo. Paso a paso alcanzamos la cima del mítico Peña Prieta, uno de esos lugares que te recuerdan lo pequeño que eres frente a la montaña. ⛰️
Pero lo verdaderamente inolvidable llegó cuando cayó la noche. Dormir a esa altitud, con el termómetro marcando –15 °C, no es precisamente una noche cómoda. El viento sacudía la tienda y el frío se colaba por cada rincón, poniendo a prueba el equipo… y también las ganas de aventura. 🌬️🥶
Fueron dos días intensos, compartiendo risas, esfuerzo y momentos que solo se viven en la alta montaña. Experiencias que se quedan grabadas para siempre y que nos recuerdan por qué seguimos buscando nuevas rutas, nuevos retos y nuevas historias que contar.

Climbing mountains is always an adventure… but spending the night at almost 2,500 meters, with –15 °C and the wind shaking the tent, is a whole different level. 🏔️❄️ This time we set out to conquer Peña Prieta, in the mountains of Palencia, starting from Cardaño de Arriba, together with my friends Manuel and Pedro. Two days of pure mountain life that we’ll never forget.

The ascent rewarded us with breathtaking landscapes of the Cantabrian Mountains: snow, silence, and that incredible sense of freedom you only feel far away from everything. Step by step we reached the summit of the legendary Peña Prieta, one of those places that reminds you how small you are compared to the mountains. ⛰️
But the most unforgettable moment came when night fell. Sleeping at that altitude, with the thermometer dropping to –15 °C, is far from a comfortable night. The wind kept shaking the tent and the cold crept in everywhere, testing our gear… and our determination. 🌬️🥶
It was two intense days, filled with effort, laughter, and the kind of moments that only happen in the high mountains. Experiences that stay with you forever and remind you why we keep searching for new routes, new challenges, and new stories to tell.
