"Well, I'm proud of my colleagues and the people responsible for making the show, and that they are receiving recognition and, yeah, it's good for everybody who's involved."

"Difficult because you have to sort of like, you have to sort of tread the line between authenticity, and there are documents available that can assist with that. Like there's so much history and Japanese history and British history and Portuguese history. And so there was a lot to refer to, but you also have to tread the line between honoring those documents and also still making it something that's entertaining to people. But yeah, a lot went into it. From all angles. From every, in every department. Whether it was costume, the equipment that they had, weaponry. Yeah."

8. SOUNDBITE (English) Cosmo Jarvis, actor - on whether there will be a season two:
"I don't really, I don't know anything about it. I know that they intend to do it, but I don't know anything about it because it doesn't exist yet. I trust that the people responsible for realizing it will do what they did the first time and will, I know that they're working really hard to make it exist. And that's all I know."

10. SOUNDBITE (English) Takehiro Hira, actor:
"Well, it's based on historical, you know, facts. So, we kind of know what's going to, you know, unfold. But, you know, I don't know how we're going to tell the story. But I'm excited to, you know, I'm excited, waiting."

12. SOUNDBITE (English) Takehiro Hira, actor:
"Yeah, actually I've done a lot of samurai films back in Japan. So, it's almost like a second nature to us, like Japanese actors, to do that kind of historical piece. But, I guess, you know, I was more conscious about how it's going to be perceived, how it's going to convey to the non-Japanese audience. So yeah, that was more, that was more a bigger concern for me.

STORYLINE:
The cast of 'Shōgun' attended the BAFTA TV Tea Party in Los Angeles, Saturday, shortly after the series was awarded 14 times at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, already making it the most Emmys ever won by a show for a single season.

'Shōgun' is set in Japan at the end of the Sengoku Period in 1600. Speaking of honoring real-life Japanese history, star Cosmo Jarvis said, "There was a lot to refer to, but you also have to tread the line between honoring those documents and also still making it something that's entertaining to people."

When asked about a potential second season, Jarvis shared, "I trust that the people responsible for realizing it will do what they did the first time. I know that they're working really hard to make it exist."

Also speaking at the Tea Party, co-star Takehiro Hira admitted he had felt some concern about how the show would be received internationally.

"I was more conscious about how it's going to be perceived, how it's going to convey to the non-Japanese audiences."
