It has been a veritable treasure trove of dinosaurs, and has given palaeontologists unique insights into the palaeo-ecology of the Upper Jurassic in particular and the Mesozoic in general. If you were to simply pull a name of a famous dinosaur out of a hat, there is a good chance that it came from the Morrison Formation.
