Meta stock soars on Q4 earnings, first-ever dividend

Meta Platforms' (META) fourth-quarter earnings were better than Wall Street expected. The tech giant reported earnings of $5.33 per share versus estimates of $4.91 and revenue of $40.11 billion compared to the $39.01 billion estimate. The social media company's first-quarter guidance also topped estimates. In addition, Meta announced it's increasing its share buyback program by $50 billion and that, for the first time, it will be paying a dividend of 50 cents per share.
