In July 2024, my good friend Charlie and I set off from Miami, Florida, aiming to reach Trinidad, Colorado. Our plan was to travel to the Pacific Ocean in Oregon via the Trans America Trail. After a quick, two-day, 2000-mile race to Trinidad, we began our off-road adventure, overlanding and camping along the way, avoiding paved roads where possible.

This is Day 7: We journeyed from Antelope Creek through the scenic Sawtooth National Forest, eventually reaching Boise, ID. Unfortunately, I had to deal with yet another flat tire. With several wildfires raging across Oregon—right in our planned path—we had to make a tough decision. Instead of continuing west, we changed course and headed east towards Wyoming.
