'Tis the Season for Giving!

In the past year, the Boston Fencing Club's Schools Programs has quintupled in size working within public schools in Dorchester, Brighton, and Allston as well as in Boys and Girls Clubs in Newton and Waltham. Boston is one of several cities across the country that recently transitioned to a free lunch program for all students due to the financial need. We recognize that fencing as a community and a sport runs the risk of being elite and exclusive based on financial accessibility. The starting cost for a year of beginner fencing is around $1,000 before any equipment costs. Our aim is to offer these beginner programs in Boston Public Schools and local Boys and Girls Clubs free of cost-- to open the sport up to all potential youth athletes in the area. We would not be able to be do this without the support of our donors. As 2016 comes to a close, we find ourselves in need of support for equipment and staffing costs going into our spring programs. With your help we will be able to expand these programs and offer the opportunity to fence to more students in the area.
