Can You Have a Normal Delivery After a Laparoscopic Cervical Stitch?

🚫 Unfortunately, the answer is no, a normal vaginal delivery is not possible after undergoing a laparoscopic cervical stitch procedure.

Here’s why:

🔹 Bladder Mobilization: During the laparoscopic method, the bladder is mobilized, and the cervical stitch is placed at the level of the internal os.
🔹 Fibrosis Formation: Over the course of pregnancy, fibrosis develops around the stitch, which makes accessing it through either the vaginal route or laparoscopic methods extremely difficult.
🔹 Delivery Options: As a result, patients who have had a laparoscopic cervical stitch will need to opt for an elective cesarean section for delivery.

In case of a miscarriage, even in the early stages, a hysterotomy (mini cesarean section) is necessary to safely remove the baby.
