We kick off our unforgettable family road trip to Southern France, just an hour away from Bordeaux, for my good friend’s beautiful wedding!

We hit the road at 3:45 a.m., leaving London early to catch the ferry from Dover to Calais ⛴️ (1.5 hours), and then continued the drive down through France.

To break up the journey, we split the drive over two days. On Day 1, we pushed as far as we could and made it to Bordeaux, where we booked a hotel to rest and recharge. The total travel time on the road that day? About 12 hours!

This video captures that first day on the road. The early start, ferry crossing, French motorways/highways, and everything in between.

Watch Day 2, where we explore Bordeaux and its outskirts, enjoy some family time by the lake, go for a relaxing walk, and soak in the peaceful vibes before heading to the big wedding celebration.
