4 Ways to Grow Lilacs! We were able to get our hands on established Lilac bushes and get a few cuttings that we are showing multiple ways to grow. We show a direct to soil type planting with the cutting, a plastic bag growing experiment with the cuttings. We also ordered a package of Miss Kim Lilac Tree seeds which take much longer to establish. We did a direct seed approach with soil. We also used the plastic bag to start the germination process.
