Bodybuilding remains a popular sport in the Nelson Mandela Bay Metro and continues to grow. An Addo-born bodybuilder, Mongezi Mata, is part of this expansion, as the small club, the Rabbit Gang, that he started in 2019, has grown to more than 50 members.

Mata and four other bodybuilders have also been invited to compete at the prestigious International Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation Mr and Miss Universe competition to be hosted in Johannesburg in October.
