Session 1 - XR Innovation Launchpad Program

Welcome to Session 1 of the XR Innovation Launchpad 2024

In this session, we are thrilled to host Chizara Ibeakanma, a talented Spark AR Creator, as our facilitator for the Spark AR track of the XR Innovation Launchpad Program. Chizara will guide 100 selected participants through creating Spark AR filters and AR experiences using their mobile and PC.

Our special guest speaker, Julie Smithson, Co-Founder of Unlimited Awesome, XR Women, and host of The Polys Awards, will share her extensive knowledge and experiences in the XR industry with the selected participants. Julie’s expertise in fostering inclusive and innovative environments in the XR community makes her insights invaluable.

About the XR Innovation Launchpad Program 2024
The XR Innovation Launchpad is an initiative by Immersive Tech Africa designed to upskill emerging talents and creators. Through a dedicated 10-weeks hybrid training program, it aims to kickstart their careers in Extended Reality (XR) technology across Africa.

With XR's increasing relevance in various industries, from education to entertainment, this program seeks to bridge the technical and creative talent and skills gap in the XR industry and foster innovation within the continent.
