Neste filme mostramos que é possível plantar florestas biodiversas e elas serem rentáveis desde o início. Não precisamos esperar as frutíferas começarem a produzir para termos a primeira receita. Com o plantio de hortaliças nas entrelinhas das árvores, em poucas semanas já temos as primeiras colheitas. Podemos fazer vários ciclos de hortaliças, ou podemos plantar capím desde o início se queremos apenas focar nas árvores. Nas entrelinhas podemos plantar gramíneas da savana africana, as quais são muito eficientes em produzir biomassa, isso não significa que temos que plantar mombaça sempre. Existem muitas espécies de gramíneas africanas, podemos escolher aquelas gramíneas que não exigem uma relação tão estreita entre fungos e bactérias, ou seja, que se adaptam melhor em um solo onde ainda predominam bactérias, como andropogon e braquiária brizantha. Com o tempo e o estabelecimento de mais fungos no solo, nosso agroecossistema vai avançar rápido, a caminho dos sistemas de abundância das florestas primárias.

From vegetables to the Forest, productive restoration. (Subtitles available in English)
In this video, we show that it is possible to plant biodiverse forests and make them profitable from scratch. We don't have to wait for the fruit trees to start producing to have the first outcome. By planting vegetables between the lines of trees, we might have the first harvest in a few weeks. We can do several vegetable cycles or just plant grass from scratch in case we just want to specialize in trees. We can plant grass from the African savannah between the lines, they are very efficient in producing biomass, but it does not mean that we always have to plant Mombasa. There are many species of African grass, we can choose the ones that do not require such a symbiotic relationship between fungi and bacteria, that is, that adapt better in a soil where the level of bacterial counts is elevated, such as andropogon and palisade grass. As more fungi settle into the soil over time, our agrosystem will move towards primary forest abundance systems.
