Patoli (Konkani) or Kadubu (Kannada) is a special dish prepared during the festival of Nagara Panchami (Snake God Festival) all across South India and Maharashtra. We can use turmeric leaves or banana leaves. Traditionally Turmeric leaves are used as it gives a nice aroma and a distinct flavour to the dish. One must be careful regarding consistency of the batter to prepare a perfect sweet kadubu. Grated coconut mixed with jaggery is stuffed inside the Wheat or Rice batter. We have used Wheat batter as it is admissible during fasting period as we refrain from using rice or rice dishes. Follow the instructions in the video and you should get it right.
