This is what happens when you turn on a Pipe Organ

Описание к видео This is what happens when you turn on a Pipe Organ

Chords: I've added subtitles to the video that shows you what chords I play and when. The pattern is a simple C - Eb - F - C transition with some leading notes.

This website can help with learning what the chords look like: https://www.pianochord.org/
(no association, I just googled it)

The St. Paul's pipe organ, in Hamilton New Zealand, is a tracker organ, this means all the keys are physically connected to the control sliders on the pipes. The only electrical parts of the instrument are the lights and the blower providing the air pressure. This means, that when the organ is turned on or off, I can keep the pipes open to the increasing or decreasing air pressure as the blower starts up or powers down.

This creates a super cool effect! It means you can hear certain pipes increase in sound as their required operating pressure is reached, first the smaller ones and finally the biggest ones.

Also yes, I've played this start-up effect during for a service musical outro interlude. It got a lot of puzzled looks and head-turns as you might expect haha

Disclaimer: The organ is not damaged by doing this, naturally varying temperatures and air humidity throughout the year have a much greater effect on the tuning of the pipes.
