Today we’re going behind the scenes of Netflix’s Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega as the titular character herself, as well as Christina Ricci, the OG Wednesday Addams. This show is already a piece of iconic media in the making with the legendary Tim Burton behind the lens. Tim Burton designed the character with sketches! He would bring different sketches of characters and monsters to the writer’s room and everyone would have a bit of input on what the characters would look like.

Bucharest really captures the vibe that Tim Burton and the rest of the team really wanted for the show. There are also tons of easter eggs that reference Tim Burton’s other films. Did you happen to notice anything on the back wall of the Weathervane Cafe? A lot of the set was built at Buftea Studios, the largest and longest film studio in Eastern Europe! They literally do everything from construction to post production. Pilgrim World, the sheriff’s house, the town of Jericho, and the quad were all built there!
