The Semi-Hollowbody Mendocino with a Redwood top and a Maple top. Acoustic voice recorded with a Royer R101. Amplified voice using the same mic as a room mic, no close mic.

The design of the instrument creates a strong acoustic voice regardless of the top material. The top difference can be clearly heard acoustically. Plugged in, with a near perfect setup and pickup high match, it's much harder to say......... I do think that at stage volume when the bodies start to interact with the amp, they do sound a little more different.
