A couple of things that I need to share with you.
First, I have been making an experiment recently where I am trying to focus as much as possible on the internal musical experience as opposed to paying attention to that part of the sound that makes it physical.

Sound can be either treated as an object/noise or as an infinite number of musical relationships that convey a meaning (between articulation, length, rhythm, intensity, weight, gradient, structure, form, etc.) I have intentionally distanced myself from the headphones so that I have as little contact as possible with the perturbations that sound can potentially induce if treated as an object (while performing, it is very easy to forget that music is at it's core an experience - a multitude of happenings that cannot be pinpointed, only felt). I am amazing and shocked to discover how much more I've missed about music in the past 20 years!
