This travel adapter from Ebay (cca $1) converts EU socket to almost any other socket. It is dangerous for several reasons. You can plug one pin of a plug into it and touch the other one, that becomes live through the appliance. It also completely defeats groud (earth) from design. The ground output is not connected to the ground input at all! The connections of live and neutral are so poor that at higher current this could lead to fire.
