The Philadelphia Public Relations Association honored the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia with its prestigious 2012 Gold Medal Award. The PPRA Gold Medal Award honors individuals and organizations whose accomplishments have left a lasting impact on our community and brought national recognition to Philadelphia.

Established in 1855, CHOP was the very first pediatric hospital in the nation and it continues to provide exceptional care, research, education and advocacy in pediatric health. CHOP received the most No. 1 pediatric specialty rankings of any hospital in U.S. News and World Report's prestigious 2012-13 Honor Roll of American's Best Children's Hospitals. CHOP is also ranked the best pediatric hospital in the nation by Parents magazine. Its comprehensive family-centered approach honors patient and family perspectives and choices. Patient and family knowledge, values and beliefs are incorporated into all aspects of care. CHOP also asks its families to provide input on policy and program development, facility design and professional education.
