The students and staff of the 2019 “Pride of the Mountains” Marching Band are proud to present their 2019 production entitled, “Believe”.

About our 2019 production…
A famous quote from Siegfried states, “When you think at that moment, that it is impossible…THEN the magic starts!” Overcoming personal obstacles in life, having the confidence to make miracles happen, while leaning on each other for support is the motivation for our 2019 production entitled, “Believe.” Iconic to the Macy’s storefront in New York City as well as their annual holiday campaign, this word will serve as a season long motivation for the Pride of the Mountains marching band. Through musical and visual pageantry, we will illustrate the power of believing in ourselves, each other as human beings, and recognizing the value of diversity in our world. A magical realization occurs when we acknowledge that dreams may become realities, that “what ifs” may reveal themselves in miracles, and that through the power of imagination, we “Believe!”

C.S Lewis says, “Two heads are better than one, not because either is infallible, but because they are unlikely to go wrong in the same direction.” Part Three of our production celebrates unity, diversity, and the power of a collective mind. Together, you and I are stronger and form a dynamic team. This movement will serve as a collaboration between our percussion section and the Konnakol talents of Bangladore vocal rhythmist, BC Manjunath, through video interactivity. Konnakol is described as “the art of performing percussion syllables vocally in South Indian music.” Whereas the rhythm will be played percussively, it is spoken through syllables, rhythmically. A prime example of saying the same thing through two completely different cultural mediums. The universal language is music, even though it may be produced in a variety of ways. The art of listening to each other’s interpretation is a valuable aspect of communication and further emphasizes the adage that two minds are better than one. “Believe in the power of us!”
