March Future High Streets Fund - Traffic Comparison

Описание к видео March Future High Streets Fund - Traffic Comparison

Our Traffic Modelling video shows how the scheme to transform the road layout of Broad Street, March, dramatically improves travel times and ensures a consistent flow of traffic through the town – easing congestion and reducing pollution.

The videos were based on real data collected over a period of days and represent an average day - not school holidays, days with planned closures or days that works were taking place. The models outline peak times for the road network, morning and evening.

Both models use the same amount of traffic, placed into the system at the same time. Some interesting items to watch for which illustrate the benefits are:

• Pedestrian zebra crossings
• Buses and HGVs
• Cars turning into Grays Lane
• Cars turning into Broad Street from the mini roundabout
• How often there is standing traffic
• How often there is congestion

The scheme to change the road layout of Broad Street is being delivered by Cambridgeshire County Council with funding from the county’s March Area Transport Study (£4.2million), the March Future High Streets Fund programme (£3.6million) and the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority’s Market Towns Fund (£2million).
