Ceremonial Viking Saxes

Описание к видео Ceremonial Viking Saxes

This was a particularly special project to take on, these twin knives played a key part in a wedding ceremony that took place in early June of this year. The knives themselves were primarily designed by the recipients with a little artistic licensing thrown in along the way.
The blades were forged from a large scragg saw, sourced from a lumber mill in Southeast Ak. Both the upper and lower guard are wrought iron stakes, scavanged from the beach off the wreck of a 19th century sailing vessel. The lobed section of the pommel was a piece of a wrought iron chain that was aquired from a fellow smith in Texas. My ignorance is showing here: I believe the wood was of a rosewood variety. The center section is moose antler inscribed with the names of the owners in elder futhark runes. Copper spacers are placed between each segment of the hilt.
