Sex, Specialty and Service - Working in sexual health services

Описание к видео Sex, Specialty and Service - Working in sexual health services

Sexual and reproductive health nurses talk about why they chose to work in sexual health and how their role and studying has developed their skills and experience. Also, hear about what their role encompasses and what they enjoy about the area they work in.

Sexual Health (SH) encompasses: genito-urinary medicine, sexual and reproductive health, psychosexual counselling, abortion services and HIV. It is delivered in various settings, providing care across specialised services as well in primary care and third sector organisations.

This video shows nurses discussing their own careers and the education and skills needed for nursing and midwifery staff working in sexual health and HIV care and the relevant qualifying bodies for these education programmes. Different levels of education and qualifications are available to develop the necessary expertise to deliver quality care. It is intended to complement the sexual and reproductive health education directory launched on the RCN website. For more information on the sexual and reproductive health specialism, and the skills and education necessary to work within it, please visit:
