Grasse is a town on the French Riviera, in the hills north of Cannes. It's known for its long-established perfume industry, and this heritage is celebrated at the Musée International de la Parfumerie, in the town center. Large perfumeries such as Fragonard, Molinard and Galimard offer tours. Grasse Cathedral, a former Roman Catholic cathedral in the old town, contains many paintings, including some by Rubens.

Perfumery develops in the city of Grasse in the 17th century, but it will evolve throughout the 18th century, when a new procedure for extracting the flowers from the beginning emerges, which will give rise to perfume. This industry will be very prosperous. And in the 19th century, new machines and new extraction techniques were invented. Several perfume factories will be established in the village that create fragrances that are later sold to big brands. Grasse has turned the perfume industry into a true art that is the result of the alliance between product quality and refinement.
