In pursuit of enhancing its communication strategies and aligning with modern trends in social media platforms, the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) conducted a Benchmarking Meeting with the Philippine National Police – Public Information Office (PNP-PIO) on June 19, 2025, at Camp Crame, Quezon City.

The primary objective of the activity was to explore effective practices and digital innovations in public information dissemination that the PNP has successfully implemented. This initiative aims to equip the NAPOLCOM Public Information Division with improved tools and strategies for engaging the public and promoting transparency.

The NAPOLCOM team was composed of Ms. Jenz Krishna Rivera, Executive Assistant IV of the Office of the Vice Chairman and Executive Officer; Ms. Eleanor E. Cenzon, Chief of the Public Information Division; Mr. Ramon D. Ypil, Assistant Chief of the same division; Ms. Mary Angelle R. Tifles, Administrative Officer V; and Ms. Ma. Jessica P. Duldulao, Administrative Officer IV. The group was warmly received by the Chief PIO, Police Brigadier General Randulf T. Tuaño, along with Police Colonel Froilan Navarroza, Assistant Chief PIO, and other key personnel of PNP-PIO.

During the meeting, a series of lectures were conducted to provide NAPOLCOM with a deeper understanding of PNP-PIO’s internal operations and external communication efforts. Police Major Anthony France F. Ramos discussed the PNP-PIO’s organizational structure, highlighting the roles and functions of its various components. Police Lieutenant Colonel Rodel Trumata, Deputy Chief of the Information and Communication Development Division, presented the evolving dynamics of social media and its critical role in shaping public perception. Meanwhile, Non-Uniformed Personnel Bennette R. Ramos, Writer of the Office of the Chief PNP-PIO, shared practical insights on how to effectively conduct a press conference.

The benchmarking activity concluded with a fruitful exchange of ideas and mutual appreciation for the value of strengthened communication strategies in public service. Both agencies expressed optimism that this collaboration will lead to more responsive, transparent, and impactful public engagement under the vision of a Bagong Pilipinas.
