Tbh, watch this now in case I take it down. A couple of nights ago I couldn't sleep. Not normal for me these days at all. But when it does happen, it's usually God trying to tell me something. When this happens, I pull up my notes and scribble down whatever it is that comes to me. This time, it was surrounding a part of my journey that I kind of tucked away. It wasn't hidden, my journey is well documented but I've never openly discussed this part. I just self-corrected it and kept moving forward. But now, I feel like it's important to address this as I see we're entering yet another "skinny era". Seems like they come every 5-10 years. I've tortured myself, watching this back more times than I would usually, picking it apart, wanting to edit things out. But that's not what God woke me up for. He woke me up for some woman or women who are out there not seeing it the same way I was. At the time, nobody could get through to me. Even students in my classes had mentioned it. Maybe if there was someone who had been in my shoes, who I could visually see reflecting on being in this place; maybe I would have never ended up there or never took it so far. I was eating so few calories for the amount of exercising I was doing. I was quite possibly the most unhealthy I've ever been. I might've been better off staying a size 24 than taking the extreme route to a 00. The main points I want you to take away from this are actually less about that original title I keep repeating throughout the video, so less about being skinny. But more about the importance of a solid body composition. I could have been a much healthier 120. I still believe that weight is just too low for me period, but I want you to understand where I'm coming from. Anyway, I didn't backspace this whole message so I hope it makes sense and resonates with you. Thank you for watching. And you know what just came to mind? If you've been trying to get this message across to someone close to you, maybe sending them this video will be a gentler way of expressing your concerns. Sometimes people need to hear it from someone who has been in their shoes.
