How to spare the Troll from "Master Armorers" -- The Witcher 3

Описание к видео How to spare the Troll from "Master Armorers" -- The Witcher 3

During the "Master Armorers" quest given by Yoana, in Velen, you will eventually find yourself facing an aggressive Ice Troll on the Undvik Island, in Skellige, defending what's left of an old forge including a chest with the blacksmith's tools needed to complete the quest. Now, this is a troll that just attack and you can't just try to reason with him like usual, so it was hard for my Geralt killing him to get some tools; so I messed around with Alternate Axii and found a way to get the tools without harming the poor creature.

I'm not sure if you need the Alternate Axii or if the normal one is fine, didn't worked for me but I tried only a couple of times, but you are going to need some extra sign intensity for the Axii stun\control to last enough. Try to lure him on the entrance of the cave shown in the video, by hitting him and going close to him so that he doesn't just trow rocks on you, and as soon as he's passing on the stairs to get over that wooden platform, use (Alternate) Axii to stop him there; it's important to be fast on using Axii on the right time, 'cause soon after go upstairs he will get back into the cave. So after stunning him there, which is the perfect spot but there may be other, go to treasure chest containing the blacksmith's tools and wait for the fight to end (music will stops), then loot the chest and you are done. Again, you may need some extra sign intensity to have enough time for the fight to ends and then loot the chest, or even to be able to stop\stun him being high leveled; also, if you can't get him too far from the chest, you could go a bit farther for the fight to end, and loot the chest from the upper wooden platform next to it.

I hope this trick will help people that, like me, just avoid killing sentient creatures unless they intentionally harm common people. This ice troll was just defending his isolated home from intruders, so there was no reason for my Geralt to kill him for some blacksmith's tools. Sadly, this will not have any impact on the game (sadly doesn't count for the Skellige's Most Wanted quest), but still for role players like me it was the best choice to make. Thanks for watching!
