Luanda, Angola vs Abuja, Nigeria

Two very different cities. One is by the Atlantic Ocean, while the other is deep in the hinterlands of the Nigerian midlands. One is tropical; the other is savannah. Between them sit Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, the Congo Republic, and the DR Congo; over 500 ethnicities exist in those countries.
 
Both cities hold significant economic power as they are the capitals of Africa's two largest oil-producing countries. Despite the absence of a direct border between Nigeria and DR Congo, the distance between Abuja, Nigeria, and Isiro, DR Congo, is surprisingly closer than the distance between Luanda, Angola, and Isiro, DR Congo, even though Angola has a border with the DR Congo.
