Decoying wood pigeons on wheat stubble.

This was possibly the last decoying session on wheat stubble for this year and it was the best day this season. We don’t see huge numbers of pigeons in my area or at least on the land we shoot over, 50 birds is considered a decent bag where I live. We set up around 9:15 with 12 pigeon shell decoys, 6 crow silosocks and a magnet, it was slow to begin with as we didn’t have any dead birds for the magnet so we relied purely on the decoys but once we had 2 on the magnet they came in steady throughout the day. We packed up at 4 with 25 shot and picked plus 1 feral, we should have easily killed double the bag but you can’t get them all!
