VHS-C - The "C" stands for "Compact"

Описание к видео VHS-C - The "C" stands for "Compact"

In 1982, JVC introduced the VHS-C format. The C stands for compact because the tape cartridge is half the size of a normal VHS tape.

One of the reasons that the VHS-C format was introduced was to reduce the size and portability of camcorders. A smaller camcorder would allow for easier, more convenient shooting of home movies!

However, VHS-C tapes could only be played in a standard VCR if the user had a cassette adapter.
