*The Hong Kong government says the drone show has been cancelled due to “ionospheric scintillation”. Radio waves are modified rapidly by small-scale structures in the ionosphere and hence disrupt drones from receiving GPS signals.

Crowds have turned out along Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour for a fireworks and drone display celebrating the 75th birthday of the People’s Republic of China.
