Insanely Low Kai Tak Night Landing|MSFS 2020|Realistic Graphics|

An old school approach into Kai Tak on what was known as the "checkerboard approach." Aircraft had to fly directly toward a small hill with a checkerboard pattern on it, and then make a sharp 45-degree turn to the right to line up with the runway. Mountainous terrain made this the only viable approach onto the infamous runway 13. Kai Tak was shut down in 1998 and was replaced with the much safer Chek Lap Kok airport. However, this safety sacrificed the convenience of landing directly into the city. Thankfully, the legendary Kai Tak Airport lives on in Flight Simulator 2020.
