August 15, 1975 8 year old Gretchen Eleanor Harrington was abducted while walking to bible camp. A family friend and community reverend, David Zandstra, offered Gretchen a ride. Instead of taking her safely to bible camp, Zandstra took her to a secluded location in Ridley state park where he asked her to remove her clothing, sexually assaulted her then beat her to death. Gretchen's body was discovered by a jogger in October of that same year. 48 years later... David Zandstra confessed to killing the then 8 year old girl after a witness came forward with a new piece of information tying him to the crime.

May Gretchen rest in peace and the Harrington family have some level of closure as this cold case has now been solved and come to a close.
