Getting into college as a homeschooler

Описание к видео Getting into college as a homeschooler

Are you a homeschool family thinking about getting into college?

Or considering homeschooling and wondering how this impacts your child’s chances of getting into college?

In this workshop, Modulo founder Manisha Snoyer interviews Henry Hill-Gorman, a lifelong homeschooler and recent Stanford graduate. After graduating from Stanford, Henry went on to work in admissions and ultimately decided to found YourEDU to support homeschoolers in navigating high school and getting into the college of their dreams. Since then he’s interviewed dozens of admissions officers across the country, as well as successful homeschoolers and unschoolers who got accepted at the most elite colleges and universities. In this workshop, Henry shares own experience getting into Stanford, dives headlong into whether homeschoolers get into college, the unique advantages (and potential pitfalls) of being a homeschooler when it comes to college admissions, what projects and extracurriculars homeschoolers might want to focus on, building a perfect transcripts, what materials homeschoolers need for their applications, and which colleges and universities that are particularly keen to accept students with a unique educational path. Stay tuned for the end of the workshop, where Henry shares how to nab free spots in his first college admissions cohort this fall and a sneak preview of the resources YourEDU will be offering to homeschoolers on the college track.
