Malazan Spoilers: Kallor and the Tragedy of the High King

Spoilers for Memories of Ice, Toll the Hounds, Return of the Crimson Guard, and Blood and Bone. For safety's sake, basically SPOILERS ALL for Malazan work by Steven Erikson and Ian C. Esslemont.

Kallor is almost universally reviled within Malazan fandom, but is this disgust at Kallor actually merited?
This is a brief discussion of some of the aspects of Kallor that I think complicate the picture more than a little, and place him as a tragic figure, rather than as a villain.
