Montreal teen heroes return home after saving drowning couple in Barbados: "It was a big shock"

Two teenage girls from Montreal, Emma Bassermann, 14, and Zoe Meklensek-Ireland, 13, are being hailed as heroes after they saved a couple from drowning in Barbados.

“It was a big shock,” Emma said and added “Because for us, you know, it’s something everyone would do if they see someone in danger. They would go and help them too.

The incident happened on the south side of Barbados when the girls heard a cry for help.
