Gears of War Trailers 4K - How They Changed Over Time [2006-2024]

We have collected a series of trailers from the Gears of War saga to observe their evolution over time. We selected one trailer for each chapter, except for Gears of War 3, for which we included both trailers as they represent a turning point in the series. Initially, the trailers were created in-engine, but starting with the launch trailer of Gears 3, Epic Games began producing them in CGI.

Later, when The Coalition took over, the first new chapter was introduced with the CGI trailer "Tomorrow", while for Gears 5, they adopted a middle ground with in-game trailers featuring scenes directly from the game. Gears 5 also received two CGI trailers, available in 4K on our channel.

With Gears of War: E-Day, there was a return to the origins in trailer production. Even though The Coalition collaborated with Blur for the new trailer, everything you see was taken directly from the game, including the characters, textures and environments.

This latest trailer, although entirely in-engine, was produced by a CGI studio, combining previously used techniques to create an impressive result. This has confused many people, including industry experts, who did not understand what it was, despite the "In-Engine Footage" label at the beginning of the trailer.
