MUDDY WATERS - FOLK SINGER Does the MOFI One Step bring you one step closer to the master tape?

Описание к видео MUDDY WATERS - FOLK SINGER Does the MOFI One Step bring you one step closer to the master tape?

Audiophiles have known about this recording for decades. Originally released in 1964 on the Chess label, and one of the best sounding records in the Blues genre. The lineup also features Willie Dixon on string bass, Clifton James on drums and Buddy Guy on acoustic guitar. Its a very simply recorded acoustic set, and the sound almost always amazes anyone who has heard it. Over the years it has received a few audiophile editions - the original MOFI Anadisc (not a one step, as mistakenly said in the review!), Classic Records 33 and 45 versions, then an Analogue Productions 33, and finally the 45, both mastered by Bernie Grundman. . For years the Analogue Productions 45 has been considered the top of the heap, and now faces a new contender for the crown: The MOFI Ultradisc One Step One which is mastered by Kreig Wunderlich, and pressed at 45rpm on Neotech Supervinyl. It is pressed at RTI, and is limited to 10,000 copies, How does it hold up?
