The production adopts Carson's text Antigone and extracts from Carson's NOX (2010) which was written as an epitaph to her estranged brother who died in 2000.

Note on the production:
"Carson does not “rewrite” Antigone. Her text becomes the verbal and visual scanning of a prolonged scream or cry. Emphatic, elliptical, Antigonick is more transference than translation..."

The spring production transformed the performance space from a traditional, proscenium setting to a traverse stage with the aim of creating an intimate atmosphere.
The production's use of props was minimal. Lighting was given more prominence. The conflicts of the play and Antigone’s monologues take place within the square created by a lighting effect. The square represented Antigone’s burial chamber as well as the limits of man-made power. The light from above represented divine justice. Hence, the traverse stage setting created the effect of being inside the tomb of Antigone, the audience witnessing her death and the downfall of Kreon.
Carson problematises the notion of translation in both NOX and Antigonick. The production integrates the Roman elegy “Catullus 101.” which is recited in Latin, English, and in French sign language.
