At the Business Today AI Summit 2025, Sandip Patel, MD, IBM India & South Asia, in conversation with Siddharth Zarabi, Group Editor, Business Today, said India is witnessing strong AI experimentation, with over 80% of Indian enterprises reporting they are already working with AI. However, only around 50% are prepared to scale, while many remain cautious due to challenges such as skill shortages, high costs, and trust concerns around AI outcomes. Patel said India is at a stage where adoption must now shift from pilots to scale, especially in productivity and customer service. He noted that the US, UK and Japan are scaling AI faster than India.
