Jimmy Carters Final Journey | Plains, Georgia | A Nation Says Goodbye

The official state funeral for former President Jimmy Carter will be held Jan. 9 at the Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.
The Carter Center released a statement saying the family has accepted an invitation from Congress for Carter, who died Sunday at 100, to lie in state at the Capitol rotunda. Funeral services will begin on Jan. 4 and end on Jan. 9, moving from Carter's home state ofPlains Georgia to Atlanta and then Washington, D.C.

The final resting grounds will be Plains, Georgia
