Dar Gnawa Tanger Band: Masters of Gnawa and Grammy nominee

The Dar Gnawa Tanger Band is an organization renowned for its many contributions to Gnawi music. In addition to their rendition of many classics of the genre, the Dar Gnawa Tanger Band has expanded on and enriched the genre by adapting poems to music. Since the 1990s, the group has gained international recognition, toured extensively, and collaborated with the great masters of Gnawi music as well as renowned international artists such as the American Randy Weston. In 1996, this resulted in a Grammy nomination and Wissam Alaoui Award, presented by King Mohammed VI.
