The police invaded an art gallery owned by an ex-Banksy agent in an attempt to rescue an ill woman, who turned out to be a statue.
A sick woman led police to an ex-Banksy agent's art gallery, where they discovered a statue instead of the woman.

This artwork appeared far too realistic.

Police in London stormed into the gallery of Banksy's ex-agent because they believed an unconscious woman was actually a statue inside.

On November 25, a caller reported that someone inside Laz Emporium was suffering a medical issue. When they arrived at the shop, the cops began investigating.

Actually, that "person" was "Kristina," a new sculpture by Mark Jenkins depicting a woman dozing off in a chair while her head rests on a desk. Gallery owner and former Banksy agent Steve Lazarides commissioned the artwork.

The police officers simply pried the gallery's closed door off its hinges and entered. After entering, they learned that their mission was to protect a priceless work of art.

Hannah Blakemore, who had been working on something upstairs at the time, was taken aback when she came downstairs and saw the cops.

Police told Blakemore, "Someone stated that the woman here hasn't moved in two hours." They suspected a heart attack or overdose based on this information.

To paraphrase Blakemore: "The work is designed to make people think, and it's clearly doing that," adding that the police harassed her for having a statue that looks so much like a real person in her window.

It appears that this is the second time someone has seen it and frantically called the police.

Although it has been estimated that the statue is worth $22,000, it is not for sale at this time.
