Glass Bottle Collecting - Episode 1 (Introduction)

Описание к видео Glass Bottle Collecting - Episode 1 (Introduction)

Welcome to Episode 1 of our series on "Glass Bottle Collecting" , where we introduce you to how we got into collecting glass bottles here, and provide a little bit of information and background regarding a very helpful website for identifying bottles you may have or discover. Finding and identifying glass bottles has been a hobby of mine for quite a few years. As a youngster, I commonly found glass bottles (often still in tact) at my Grandmother's farm and would clean them up and save them. In adulthood, I was curious to discover what these bottles may have contained and what time period they may have been from.

Thank you to David Whitten of Glass Bottle Marks (https://glassbottlemarks.com/) for not only taking time to give us a bit of background about his own collecting and founding the website, but for also having this important source available for other curious minds that want to know more about the glass bottles and jars they may have.

You will hear the term "vintage" used in the video in reference to dates under 100 years old, but greater than 30 years (some people say greater than 40 years). 100+ would be referred to as "antique".
