Hyderabad DCP S. Chaitanya Kumar opened fire in self-defence during a mobile snatching chase in Chaderghat, injuring suspect Omar, a known offender. The incident occurred when one of the suspects attacked the DCP with a knife. Police Commissioner C.V. Sajjanar confirmed the DCP’s actions were justified. Special teams have been formed to catch the other suspect, while DCP Chaitanya is receiving treatment and is stable.
